Help: Bought DDR 400 instead 433 by mistake

Hi, I need help with this problem.

I ordered 2 sticks of 1G Corsair Value Select DDR 433, but the shipment came wrong and I got DDr400 instead.

Here are my current specs.

Micro: A64 3200 Venice Box
Mobo: MSI Neo4 Platinum
RAM: 1024 DDR 400 Mhz Corsair Value (2x512 Dual Channel)
VGA: Asus X800XL 256M
Monitor: LG Studioworks 995E
DVD: Pionner - 120
CDRW: LG 32*10*40
HD: WD 120 G 2M Buffer
Case: Toppower 500w
Mouse/teclado: Combo Logitech MX Duo
Webcam: PC-CAM 750
Sound: Creative Inspire 6.1

I live in Argentina and if I returne it, I have 2 or 3 weeks to get new 433 stiks.

The Question is: Should I keep the 400 or the difference between 400 and 433 is significant?

Thanks

Were you planning on adding them and having 4x512MB? If so, it won't make any difference, as all 4 sticks will have to run the speed of the slowest ones.

If I were you, I'd return them though, you paid for a a certain product, so if you can exchange it for the correct one without too much hassle or extra costs, I'd go for it.

Thanks for the reply!!

According to Msi web, my mobo doesn´t support DDR 433.

So, even if I change them, I wont see any difference, correct?

Just a little helpful advice for the future. Make sure you buy the right suff for your computer! At least you did not make a major goof buy buying a AGP video card when you need PICE LOL. And yes 433 will not make any difference on your mobo if it can't support it.

No DDR1 motherboards "officially" support anything past DDR400 AFAIK. With Athlon 64 chips, the memory controller is on-die, so it's actually the CPU which determines which memory you can run. (with BIOS limitations)

The Venice core has support for dividers which push the memory past DDR400, but speed improvements are negligable. When overclocking, a lot of people like to keep their ram at the same speed as the processor, but dividers can keep the speed close to DDR400, and again, the speed difference compared to faster ram is negligable.
