Ram question

I have a Asus P4P800 Deluxe mobo, I think I have 1 gig
of 3500 DDR that runs at 434Mhz.I only run my machine at
400 Mhz,so I would like to know if I could just buy a gig of
400 Mhz DDR ram to add to the other for 2 Ghz of DDR ram ?

Thanks,
VoodooAxis

you can possibly, but your RAM will run the slowest out of all the sticks. so the stick w/ the loosest timings and slowest speed will make all the other sticks run at that speed too.

it is always best to get all the same exact RAM. Also, running 4 sticks you will have to run 2T command rate

I'm not so sure that the 2T issue is true with Intel...but yes it's always better to have matching sticks.
