Going To Build My Own
Well i would like everyone's imput if that's ok, i need some comments please.
I'm looking to build myself a Gaming Machine and just wondered what would be the best setup and hardware to buy for this, is AMD or intel best for gaming? I'm a computer noob. But i know how to put a computer together correctly, following some guides i have read detail by detail. Need the following answered if possible please. Also i would like the hardware posted on here to be buyable from the UK so UK sites to be posted would be best please. Case : need a reasonable sized case, good for cooling (possible of 1GB Ram and extras) Motherboard : Something fast and stable for gaming, Possibly Cheap. Central Processing Unit : Something fast and stable for gaming, Possibly Cheap. Video Card : (PCI-E or AGP Slots, also nvidea or ATI, And good card, cheap if possible) RAM : Need 1GB of ram, which will fit with the motherboard. Floppy Drive : Something that will interact well with the machine. CD Drive : Something that is fast and interacts well with the machine. Hardrive : Something with a reasonable amount of space Monitor : Flat screen if possible, not a must, something bright and smooth. Speakers : nice gaming speakers perfect for gaming. Sound cards : not a must but if it helps then please put some down. Keyboard/Mouse : Nice gaming mouse / keyboard, good for gaming. Mousepad : Again something smooth and great for gaming. Headphones : great sound and perfect for gaming. You don't have to answer all of them but if you can answer as many as u can with the name, url and price of the hardware i would be very much greatful basically this will be a first computer i'm building, that's why i'm asking if you could find cheap hardware (not crap, but good and cheap if possible) it doesn't have to be cheap but it would help greatly. Is there anything i will need that i have missed out? please tell me, thanks again and thanks in advanced!LLu$!0N >JaMiE< |

Well if you wanna make a system STRAIGHT away, I can advise the following:
Case: Any Thermaltake or Coolermaster that you like in design and price (they have from expensive to cheap) Mobo: Can't go wrong with ASUS... DFI is great too (since I advise you go AMD) CPU: AMD 64 X2 4000+ are quite cheap now and damn good nonetheless + OC like hell. RAM: You can't live with 1 GB ram nowadays. You DEFINITALY need 2 GB of highspeed DDR. Videocard: It'll be PCI and if you want the best bang for the buck nowadays, go for a 7900 GT! Floppy: I dunno if you really need one mate but if you want one, just pick up any... CD Drive: Screw a CD drive and get a DVD drive... And burner too (NEC or LG)HD: Seagate Barracuda Sata are great Moniter: Go on Dell.com and search for a monitor you'd like (size) Speakers: Can't go wrong with logitech... Some nifty speakers! ![]() Sound Card: Get a Xi-Fi from Creative, you won't regret it. Keyboard + Mouse: Again, logitech are the best in this department. Mouspad: Xtrac is nice and quite cheap but honestly, if you got the money go for an Icemat or another renowned make like Steelmat. Headphones: You again can try logitech or creative, they make good ones imho. And voilą! If you really want I can give a URL to each thing but just google it mate

I'll write everything down and if anyone finds anything better then i'll add it thanks again.Edit I have found quite a few cases on this UK website (www.xcase.co.uk) and looks very good, i came across some very nice gaming cases and you recommended a coolermaster one and i seen a cheapish one here :- http://www.xcase.co.uk/acatalog/Cool...urion_534.html But i'm not really sure about this one because i came across some nice designed ones also at some reasonable prices. Get the coolermaster... It's a great case and get a good company PSU with it (a bit more money but well worth it)
As a mobo this one is a real beauty... as for a CPU, this is the best bang for buck ![]() Can't go wrong with corsair ![]() Definately this vid card! As for a HDD, this one and the speakers are fine, go for this sound card then (don't need super high end) and any keyboard but I suggest this. Hope it's SOME help. |

Dunno but there must be SOME site that has the mobo in stock... It's a famous one...
Technically everything should fit according to my knowledge but please don't take my word for it and verify it with someone else... Don't want you to make a mistake ![]() Finally, don't forget a powerful but good PSU and enjoy once you buy the stuff
