Keyboard acting funny...

Sense I got my new setup I have noticed that every now and again my keys will stick, not physicly. Whilst playing games (BF2 and DDO mostly) I will let off my movment keys and continue to move in the direction regardless for a few seconds. There is nothing I can do to stop it once it has started, pressing other keys and moving mouse has no effect untill it stops repeating.

Odd thing is I have never noticed this happening outside of a game, I use WASD keys for movment so I would figure that it would happen when typing as well...

hmm aside from recommending the lastest drivers ( I don't know if there are any, I just see the logitech setpoint program )

Have you tried plugging both ps2 and usb in at the same time, kind of an unlikely soloution but it couldnt hurt

It could be that you're using a USB 2.0 keyboard on a USB 1.0 port, and it 'lags'.

I had the same problem (keys would stick randomly and wack out) when I built a new pc and had a new keyboard. It turned out to be a faulty keyboard, I replaced it with another one exactly the same and have never had a problem.

Well, it is not network lag nor a drop in frame rate. It is just a weird keys sticking (and my keyboard has worked fine for 3 or so years... though I probably should replace it...)

no i didnt have any visual lag either, just all of my inputs would freeze for 2secs... i'd get stuck moving in whatever of the WASD key that was pressed & mouse wouldnt do anything

hmm this reminds me of some catalyst tweak related to dx input issues.......

My advice: Get a new keyboard. (I have the Logitech G15, I <3 it.)

Yeah, just try swapping with a known good one as a check to be sure - but that would be my guess too.

I avoid using any extra software that comes with keyboards and mice routinely as well, just to avoid picky little problems.

Ya, I am not a fan of keyboard/mouse drivers sense they just add extra load to the system and only add features I never use.

Figured out what the problem is, just thought I would share so other people that have the problem can fix it. Turns out it is the temp monitoring feature in ATI Tools, turn it off and things work fine.
