Partition my HD?
I'm still new at this hard drive stuff... well to a certain degree. I have a Western Digital 80 GB 7200 RPM hard drive, I'm told I should partition it. What are the advantages of this? How do I go about doing it properly?

How do you intend to partition it? One big partition? Several little ones? Regardless of how though, Partition Magic (8.0 now I think) is simply the best partitioning program out there...

fdisk
I just use "fdisk" in dos and do it the old fashioned way. I just had to rebuild me 40Gb yesterday and I made 2-6Gb drives for me 98se/XP installs, 2-10Gb drives for general use, 1-5Gb for games, & 1-2.2Gb for "emergency storage"(OS CDs, drivers, tools, utilities, etc.) It works well.
