Help, computer turning on but not responsive

After my motherboard got fried, it took my power supply with it.

I had ordered a new motherboard and power supply, and got everything hooked up. The computer turns on and recieves power, but nothing shows up on the monitor. The monitor's green power light blinks like its idle, waiting for something working to be plugged into it.

I have a brand new processor in the computer that just arrived, and the RAM and Video card have both been tested and work, and I have tried different monitors and cords, so its not that either. Both harddrives power up, and I was told if I unplugged them and turned the computer on, which I did, the monitor would display something regarding no harddrives being plugged in. Nothing showed up, so I don't believe its the harddrive either.

When I first hit the power switch on the power supply, the computer immediately turns on. I checked and reconnected my pins to the front panel, and that didn't do anything either. I'm not sure if this is related to the issue of nothing showing up on the monitor, but the power button doesnt work. Like I said, as soon as you turn the power supply to "I", the computer turns on.

Help? I'm frustrated and out of ideas. I have no clue whats wrong, and it seems I've tried just about everything.

There's a small slider switch on the back of most PSUs. This might have been knocked in the wrong direction through handling and shipping. Check to make sure its on the right setting as Tobey has suggested.

Also check for good connections or for that matter broken pins on the terminal ends.

Also, make sure that the video card -- and any other cards -- and memory are completely seated in their respective slots.

Additionally, make sure the BIOS is set to boot to the correct Video....PCI or AGP. Then, too, make sure you have the monitor connected to the correct output connection.

In the BIOS it must be set to automatically turn on after a power outage. If you don't want it to do that, you have to Disable that in the BIOS.
