I've seen that acer and this one in action side by side. I'd recommend upgrading to the 20" if you can afford it. If not, I'd recommend the acer out of the 3 you posted - they're great monitors, and at a great price to boot.

Out of those under 200.00 (19" widescreen) at Newegg I liked the Sceptre NagaV for $180.00 after a 40.00 mail in rebate. Sceptre NagaV at Newegg it has both DVI and VGA inputs too...
Be aware, if you go to a larger screen, the native resolution increases, which means your video card may bog down playing games at native resolution (which looks best...).

imo.. 200 bucks for a lcd is skimping just a wee bit for anything quite good.

I've been looking at that And this too. They're basically the same thing, just the one at Newegg has a 135 degree vertical viewing angle instead of the 130 at Tiger.. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Tab=0&NoMapp=0

Me too, and in my opinion this is the best deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824254005
$200 for 5ms, 700:1 contrast ratio, DVI connection, 150/135 viewing angle.. it's a pretty sweet deal for a budget I want to get it, but I just wanna see if the "monitor techies" think it's good deal too

i'm not concerned about the dollar value effecting the chance of there being problems.. it's the fact that the monitor is the one of the most overlooked and skimped on and usually the longest lasting piece in a computer setup, not to mention it's what you stare at for hours on end.
That's why i'm so confused about how someone can spend 1 hell even 2 grand on a computer tower that they'll never take full advantage on and complain about spending 1 if not 200 bucks on a monitors. I'm just saying. I'd highly recommend saveing your pennies and scratching to save for a very good monitor rather then buying something that by specs and everything. looks great, but will never compare to the slightly more expensive excellent monitors.

...and about some of those inexpensive monitors, I truly haven't seen tons of different LCDs (just no opportunity...), but when the specs tell me outright that they display only 16.2 million "colors" versus 16.7 million colors it makes me wonder - what are they doing with half a million shades? The missing shades are being "faked" somehow - or not...
