well that used to be thecase.Right now nvidia has released some beta drivers which enable quad-sli for DIY people.
So u can have quad sli but don't expect it to be supported for all games.

I also takked to a guy at ASUS....Heck,they dont even make a board that supports Quad SLi w/the new Intel Core Duo X-treme CPU.He said there working on it now and to expect it in 3-5 months..so crap!I'm gonna have to go with 1 7950 & add another 1 later.

boards do support quad sli, normally if you get the latest bios for the respective board. There is a list or guideline on nzone.com or slizone.com that shows you which boards to get if you want to try Quad, also the latest driver supports Quad Sli as well.

Time to get building your own system .... alternatively you could just get another powermac ?

Thanks for the info. Z.The way i'm reading this from nVidia there talking about 1 7950?????Another thing i'm REALLY confused about is the new Intel chipsets...????I KNOW i'm gonna buy an Intel Core Duo X-treme.So what chipset am I looking at and is this still the LGA-775 CPU.I just wanna be 100% sure before ordering parts. In other words,i'm lost as a fart in a whirlwind.Another thing I dont understand is the diff. between NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI, nForce 570 SLI, nForce4 SLI, and nForce4 SLI Intel Edition.Which 1 is the most up to date?...Thanks!

From what i've been reading, and i think this is right, the nforce 590 sli and the nforce 570 sli are the most up to date, the 590 chipset also supports 2 16x pcie slots for your graphics cards. You'll need them with a 7950 !!

So I cant run an nForce 590 with a 939 CPU....right?I have to go with the nForce4????See,i'm re-building the SLi rig that was struck by lightning. All I had to buy was a new MoBo.I got an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe nForce4.Other than that, the 1st SLi rig w/the EVGA 7800's I had will be back on line in just a few days. How much is the 2 x 16 PCI-e gonna help me?

I reckon it would be pretty awesome. you'll be getting the full x16 bandwidth available to each card instead of just the x8 previously available in sli.
I would think it would make a lot of difference, especially with the higher end cards.

I tried a single 7950 at 16x and 8x and saw no difference in performance. I've heard it makes little difference because, unlike regular sli, each 7950 has an internal SLI and PCIe connection between the two cards. All we really need is a Conroe SLI board

Nice view of the 7950 here: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=5092&page=3
