AMD CPU Speed and Gaming system requirements
I am picking up a X2 4200+ Athlon processor (gotta love the price drops), and I am wondering how do I measure the processor speed for the latest games. Some games require nowadays 2.5 Ghz or more and the 4200+ has 2.2 Ghz per core. How do I measure my new CPU with the latest system requirements.

well i usually ignore MHz ratings but a 2.2 GHz AMD is roughly equivilant to a 3GHz+ Intel chip

I'd say that it is fast enough not to worry about that at all for the time being.
The 2.2GHz AMD core is as fast as a 3.4GHz Intel Prescott core. More or less. |

for some serious real world results..
go into driverheavens adobe photoshop benchmark test results list.. and look there.... you should be able to tell where amd/intel meet up in performance and at what ghz rating.
