Logitech® MX™700 Cordless Optical Mouse
Well ive been blabbering on about this in the moderator forums and I really would strongly recommend this mouse for anyone who wants the best mouse they can get their hands on.
my last mouse was a logitech cordless optical but it ATE the batteries every other week. I had heard alot of good things about this new range. being 800 dpi resolution, a 4.7 megapixel/sec image processing capability. im not going to quote the statistics as you can find them on the logitech site but ill give you my impressions of it. Normally I find the back, forward functions pretty lame, as they never are in good positions and dont work in a feasible manner, so they would be avoided, but the positioning on this mouse is top notch, with the buttons to the left, top lip of the mouse, right in the thumb position. The usual mouse wheel is available and is nicely positioned with a good "feel", and with the newest logitech software installed, V9.75 the wheel at long last works correctly within games. this was something I used to hate about my old logitech mouse in FPS games. Incidentally V9.7 was supplied on the CD, but I was wise enough to check on their site before installing for updates. An interesting feature is just below and above the mouse wheel, in "cruise control" buttons. these are buttons you can press down for rapidly scrolling within a large document to save time on the older ideas of pushing down the scroll button and moving. also works better in practice. Docking bay looks very futuristic, but gives a nice reassuring solidity to the build quality with the supplied USB/PS2 cable with a power socket on the back for docking charging. 2 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries are supplied and as stated on the logitech site, they do seem to charge alot faster than my last packard bell (made by microsoft) cordless optical. in fact in just over half the time if my early calculations are correct. Only downside is the relative high cost, being around £50 in the UK. but its certainly worth a look for those of you with money to spare and wanting the option of cordless optical gaming at a high sensitivity with top of the line build quality and options. |

I have the Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical and I'm satisfied with this for the time being. I think after a new CPU, motherboard, memory, and a monitor... I'll check into the mouse.
Unless of course my mouse breaks... then I'll have to check into one sooner. I primarily use it for gaming, so a cordless could be good, then again if the batteries die while I'm running away from German soldiers shooting at me... I'll be very unhappy.Oh yeah... it can be found here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?pa...8&languageid=1

I am using the MX500 corded version and I love it. It is so smooth to use and extremely accurate. I would not trade it for anything

Okay..by now almost everyone should know I have both the MX500 & MX700.
I think the worst thing about the MX700 has to be the quality of batteries that comes with it. If you go and buy good quality batteries for the mouse you will have a vastly extended use per charge time ratio. I also recommend if your worried about the batteries dying on you duing use...buy a seperate charger. Yes, it may cost a bit of money but when will you be buying new batteries again? The other thing to note about this mouse is it does have some weight to it. However, after a hour or so of use you will no longer notice it. I highly recommend this mouse and I'm a picky _______ when it comes to peripherals!!! So if you want the freedom of wireless with the quality of a wired mouse pick this puppy up! If not choose the MX500...it's works just as well just has the "tail". BTW, the latest release of the Logitech drivers has been top notch. No more weird registry or Power Toys tweaks. |

The problem I have with the drivers from logitech is when I play games. The buttons get all messed up, 1 button doesn't work (my side one), and I can't scroll correctly between weapons.. did they fix this?

Eh.... the Logitech MouseWare® 9.75 still doesn't work for what I do.

Well it ain't a Logitech's fault m8. You can't assign the extra key's becose thy all will be recogniezed by most off the engine as one key. 00x00 or something like that, the game develepers need to update to recogniez the key's as idevidual if it's possible.

I play Day of Defeat, a Half-Life mod, and when the drivers are installed I have to always switch the scroll settings before I play so that when I scroll to pick weapons it doesn't skip some. Also, the 4th button (thumb button) doesn't work in game when they are installed.
