--Rochelle Communications Inc. announced recently the first multi-line Caller ID computer decoder with a USB interface.

The Model 2050 enables Computer Telephony solution providers to offer Caller ID integration capability to their customers without requiring additional serial ports. The Model 2050 is a cost-effective solution for small and large enterprises starting with four and scaling up to 400 telephone lines. It is available in two models, supporting the two signaling methods used for Caller ID around the world, FSK and DTMF.

The Model 2050 is available with USB drivers for Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, Apple 8, 9 OS and Linux operating systems. It appears to the host computer as a standard serial port, making communication easy with standard communication utilities. Up to 100 units may be used with a single host computer and USB hubs, allowing the computer to monitor up to 400 telephone lines.

The Model 2050 supports the industry-standard Rochelle CTI command set, as well as those used by competing products. The Model 2050 compatible with Caller ID signaling in the USA, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey and The United Kingdom.

The new Rochelle 2050 features four dedicated Caller ID receivers, making it suitable for applications with heavy inbound call traffic, such as pizza delivery, radio stations and call centers.
