Hang after Verifying DMI pool data

The title explains it all, the computer was working last night, I've tryed everything, clearing CMOS etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.

if you can get into BIOS setup program try looking for an option that may be under the menu Halt on of the standard CMOS features,
change the options to No Errors, this will let the system continue to boot when any error is detected and then an error message will be prompted.

Ok, I did this, but I don't think it is a CMOS error actually, because it gets to post code FF. Which, in the manual reads as successfull boot. So it may actually be a harddrive problem (I have had this HD for close to 2.5 years). I can get into the F8 menu, but when I try to do ANYTHING from it (Safe Mode, VGA mode etc.) it just hangs on a black screen.

Could be a dead floppy drive or cable... verifying DMI pool data always happens for me AFTER I tool with a floppy drive (uninstall, remove, change etc)

hmm, so, is getting a verifying DMI pool all the time a bad thing? Because I get it after every reboot.
