Routers and games and junk oh my!

I recently purchased a Linksys 4 port router. I have 3 computers hooked up to it and sometimes it just kills the internet and I'm forced to go down and reset the router. Does this possibly happen when both my brother and I are playing an online game at the same time? We're in different servers and such. I'm just curious what the problem could be. Also, are there more settings I have to mess with? I never installed any of the software that came with it, could that be the problem, it works fine though for the most part.

No need to install any of the software.
The only thing you might need is an upgrade of the firmware.
What model and firmware version are you running?
Also there is a great board only for linksys equipment with a lot of FAQ and knowledgeable members http://www.dslreports.com/forum/equip,16

Ok, I updated firmware according to what one person said about my router I have. He emailed tech support and they told him to downgrade so I installed the firmware that was suggested. My remaining question is, when I installe the firmware is it only for my PC or do I have to do it for all of them?

You upgraded the routers fireware which is completely seperate from any computers hooked up to it so no you do not have to install for each computer
