very much so... as it is a good upgrade choose your mobo wisely as i have read that many of the mobo's with nforce2 chipsets have problems. So be sure to read some reviews. as for everything else it looks like a pretty sweet system

The N-Force boards are very good if you choose the right one. 1 gig of ram is overkill in my opinon. and the xaser case are pretty cool if you get the right one.

well I was about to say, why do you need "onions" then I realised what you meant by the thread. I think that system you have in mind is pretty spectacular and should last you a long time, it will certainly wipe the 1400 system into oblivion for sure. Only thing I would say is unless you are busting to get this quick, I would try and hold off for a month or so, when ATI should release their new range of GPUs. |

I would personally order the kingston hyper X pc3500 from newegg. Great prices on it! $166 for 512 stick I believe...

If you have an nForce 2 board why would you just get 1x512? We know dual channel brings better results with 2x256.

1 gig? that's overkill. Why do you think that 1 gig would be better than 512? What programs would YOU be running that would fully benefit from that extra ram?

Also, hasher, go with a TTGI power supply. Th 520w is less than 100$. And you can also adjust the rails. Can't do that with an Enermax. Both of those PSUs are nice. Save some money and get the TTGI.
