Psy is on a distinguished road

windows xp and aspi 23

Greets.

hmm, i have recently swithced to xp os, and it seems that my scsi host controller is no longer recognised by recycle, and other relevant music scsi transfer software.
i have a adaptec 2904 card, and all the drivers are ok, the scsi is ok in itself, and all terminations and connections are offcourse ok.
i have a zip, cdrom, K2000 and S2000 (Samplers)hooked up to my scsi chain, and this has worked well for many years on older windows os.
xp recognises the scsi stuff on the chain, no problem. only the software that needs aspi does not!!

transfers work as they should in the chain , exept from xp software..wich leads me to the fact that there are som aspi 32 problems
xp apparently does not come with aspi installed, so i wanted to install it, but i allready have nero aspi it turns out!
thats funny, becouse i never had any nero related sofware installed, so where does this come from?

so does anybody know, if i can remove thesee, and install the adaptec originall aspi drivers instead, or just install them anyway, becouse the nero aspi isnt anywhere to be unninstalled? and will this solve my problem with scsi, becouse nobody seems to know anything about scsi thesee days, so i was hoping somebody here would?

thanx so much, any advice is very very welcome

thanx.

And also make sure your BIOS for both your CPU and other devices are current.

If your using a VIAA chipset these updates are critical for compatability.
Especially when it comes to Adaptec Drivers.

They are a pain in the ARSE

I ran into a prob with CDR refresh under XP.
A BIOS update cured it
