Swapping from wireless to wired internet question.
I'm on a laptop and I'm receiving some files very slowly (from msn), and the wireless connection which comes from my router, is unreliable. Is it possible to swap my internet connection from wireless to wired without losing connection? In other words, I want to plug the laptop in the router, and make the wired connection get used, rather than the wireless. But is there a way to make the switch without losing connection?

Not really...you may confuse the system.
You might just wire it if you're expecting file transfers. Or if you wanna splash some cash get a new router maybe, a better one? If you plug in the wire as you're using the wireless I believe the machine will continue to use the wireless card, there's no way to tell. You could experiment by plugging in the wired connection as you're on the wireless, then disable the wireless to see what happens, then you'd know for sure |
