Using Opera 7 with Driverheaven
Is anyone else using Opera 7 to browse the web? If so, am I the only have having major difficulties with Opera and Driverheaven? Everytime I come to this site, it seems to start to load up, then it freezes for about 15 seconds, then the page reloads itself. Sometimes this will happen 3 or 4 times before the page completely loads, where it should take a few seconds. It's kind of a pain in the ass to come to this site now, which sucks because I love Driverheaven. And I don't feel like using IE, because Opera is far superior, and I don't want to stop using it because it has difficulties with one site. So am I the only one having these problems?

The problem is with the banners from ad-flow.com. I had the same problem with Opera 6.x but it disappeared with 7.0. Set Opera to identfy itself as IE (ctrl+alt+I), the new Opera is written from scratch and is in my opinion very buggy. Guess that we'll have to wait for 7.1 before it works properly

Opera
![]() EDIT: Also, for those of you plagued by the ads, you can simply choose not to see them by adding this line (not including " "): "127.0.0.1 ads.ad-flow.com" below "127.0.0.1 localhost" in your HOSTS file. This file is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\etc. For Windows 95/98/Me users, it may be different, idk, but if you can't find it there, search for it. I was having that problem last month when my cable net access was capped at 8k/sec. Now that it's back to full speed I've had none of that repeated reloading crap.

its a problem with the ad servers, the ads are removed for now, to test this. so let me know, there is a thread in the news forum regarding this. so post any findings in there please.

Seems everything is OK now. Since they took off the ads in the forums, everything is running fine. I guess Opera was just having problems with loading up the ads. Now, for the next issue, when I go the the forums menu it looks like this. Shouldn't the forum tab be longer like the moderator tab is? This is a very minor issue, I just want to see if all the Opera users have this, or if I just messed up a setting or something.

It's not just you, it looks the same for me But I don't think that we can blame this on sloppy code, Opera has some some difficulties with vertical alignments inside tables in 7.x. |
