Suggestions for new monitor?

So, I have a very good (I am satisfied with it) Samsung 930BF (19"), but 19" just not enough any more. Perhaps because I am getting older (almost 30 now), or because I just feel like I want a larger monitor. Anyway, I am looking for bigger, and I guess Widescreen, monitor. Cheap (or at least cheaper than expensive since I doubt there are any cheap ones) 21"+ widescreen monitors. The + sign goes up to 23, since I don't want to spend a fortune that I don't have for a monitor.
So, cheap(er) 23"...21" monitors (TFT) widescreen users among us? Or at least with some knowledge about them? Or if you just feel like you want to say something on the matter no matter what :-p

I checked several reviews and forums. There are 3 opinions evenly split (from those that post).
1)The monitor is the best thing since sliced bread.
2)The monitor is the spawn of evil, it lags, it has huge banding issues and most of the inputs don't work properly.
3)The monitor is great, there is a banding issue that is easily to avoid (leaving the mode to "desktop"), and all other problems have been fixed with rev A02 onwards.

I am inclined to buy it. I called 3 times to Dell Hellas but for several hours now they are telling me that their system is down. Pffff. Always a good sign when a computer company can't fix computer related problems at their base.

BTW, to people that have so large monitors (why don't you post here? :-p ) do you find gaming with older titles completely unattractive?
