Need Help kinda cluess Partitioning my harddrive

hello... was wondering if any of u could help me with my situation... my computer has been going kinda slow and i wanted to know if it was possible to partition my harddrive with a program like partition magic 8 and put my paging file on it...

Well.. if your PC is getting slower lately, I doubt the problem is going to be solved by partitioning your drive.

Give us details of your system and specs?

ok well not my computer thats goin slow ... its when i play games on it, games didnt used to lag the way they do now... i have a hp pentium 4 3.00 gHz and 512 ram.

Putting the page file on another parition won't allieviate that....putting it on a seperate physical volume would help but getting more RAM would be the best solution

What have you done to the PC (upgrades, installation of programs/games etc) since it has become slower in games?

ive tried to change the paging file to 1.5 times my ram.. i dunno ive tried using a program that supposadly fixes ur registry to make it better for games i think its called game xp... ive also tried to defragment my drive and searched my viruses, and it didnt slow down at once... ive been noticing over the last few months that my computer has been suffering trying to run games

i dont like these programs that "fix" the registry.

try unistalling it and if it has a backup, restory the files. (just suggestion, dont blame me if something goes wrong)

How long since you installed windows?

I find that making seperate partitions for paging, programs, windows, misc. files saved my computer from becomg a slow bastard within a few months. Of course, to do this you would need to do a fresh install of windows.
