I can't say "he's done!" since I still have quite a bit of bells & whistles to add to him...but the basic 98se & XP installs are all in and tweaked rather nicely.
![]() 10,346 in 98se and 10,262 in XP in 3dm2k1se, which is close enough for me to be happy with both OSes tweakages. (Although I gotta re-run the 98se bench since getting the 43.00 drivers...I like 'em better. )It runs games great, 'cept for Unreal2 so far...I think the 256MB is what's screwing me up there but it's all he's gonna have for a while. Gotta go play, just thought I'd show some benchies. The machine is stock 'cept the GF4, I had to set it up to 300/600 just 'cause I liked the number.

![]() I wanna keep this one well within acceptable tolerances to give him a long time of solid gaming, and time to learn how to care for it...then HE can have the fun of finding it's edge. (I gotta leave him some room to improve it....)EDITED BITS: Left out the word "needs", fixed.

3DM2K1 & most games I have like a higher FSB. That board ran 200MHZ w/a different CPU. That CPU & ram oughta take 150 minimum & prolly 166 w/o problems. At least try 143 & get it over 12k.
The card look fine for a 'safe' oc, IMO & I know ya gotta leave a little so's you can go give it some more in a month or two. Hit that CPU with the FSB stick & watch it shine.

My t14200 goes to 315/615, but I don't ever run it there- I usually leave it at 310.5/594- that's where it seems to be happy. It doesn't run at the exact speed you set it at anyway I don't think.
I had this program called rivatuner that used something called "low level" oc'ing for the video card and it would basically set the card to the nearest mhz for the gpu and ram that is wanted to naturally run at. I would set it at 310/600 and it would o'c it to 310.5/594. when I set the oc using coolbits at the driver level at say 311/600 and check to see what it's really running at when I run 3dmark 03 - it is actually running at 310.5/594. I don't know if this is only with my certain brand of card or what. If I go higher that that 3dmark 03 will report my card running at 315.5/607.5 or something like that. The next notch for the ram is around 621.5mhz, which I have tried, but I start seeing artifacts. I would go up to 320 for the gpu and 620 for the ram and dee if the card is stable, if not back it down 5 to 10mhz and there you go- push it for a few hours with hard gaming to see if it is completelt stable and there is the speed you should run it at. Of course you probably knew all that already, but that's what I did and it works great. Sometimes on hot summer days I crank the gpu down to 305mhz for gaming and it seems to be more stable and actually perform a little better. Oh, one more thing, I run 1.6v to the video card because if i don't it doesn't seem to like those higher speeds as much. You may want to set the voltage up a notch in the bios if you can to see if that helps w/ o/c'ing the card. Tell us how fast it goes.
