CD/DVD-Drives... locking up or quitting
In tandem with hardrives i guess,

another machine i'm working on the CD Drive just up doesn't work, hit the power button, leds flash, "ok normal", hit the eject button, led flash "ok normal" wait 5 seconds "ok abnormal"..... hit the eject again and led stays on infinitely "ok, something wrong"

No obvious somethings jammed to hell, but with the led on, something would obviously be a little more wrong.

Using my trust pin i use for opening cd-roms manually, i stick the sucker in and and serprised by the amount of force i'm using. Realizing that the sucker JAMMED shut somehow. opening the drive up results in no CD in the drive and nothing obvious of issues. Looks completely fine.

A good jiggle results in nothing out of ordinary. The drives tray has give like it should and so far i'd say the drive is toast enless i can get the drive open.

I finally pop the drive, no obvious issues, pop a cd in fire it up, doesn't read the cd, and i can't get the sucker open again....

i've concluded that it's a failed drive. Replacedment time.

(guad i hate cheap prebuilts, but love the fact that they need to be fixed constantly )

it's been used tops... 10 hours lol.... the computer is a work computer...

the suckers practically brand new because it's rarely used and in a clean rarely occupied location to top it off.
