need some help...

My comp is really hurting lately and I have to upgrade as I`ll prolly gut this rig.I would like to use the conroe 6700 or 6800.What would in your opinion be the best/fastest mobo for the conroe?I prefer Asus and currently have the p4c800 deluxe w/p4 2.8 and x800pro card.I prefer a single ATI card but might go crossfire.Any help would be greatly appreciated as comp is on its way out (on/off switch is busted so I have to jump it with two wires to start it usually after 1-to 3 hours to turn it on because of a short somewhere it`s a mess!.)

i will never know for sure. but here are motherboards for Intel Core 2 processors that i have in mind.

if i were to buy a new board for the Intel Core 2 processor then i would pick the Gigabyte 965G-DS4 (Rev 2.0),
i believe the Asus P5B Deluxe and P5B-E Plus are both good boards, however i still think i like to stay on with Gigabyte at this time.

Intel 965 + ICH8R chipset-based platforms.

-Gigabyte
965G-DS4 (Rev 2.0)
965P-DS4
965P-DQ6

-Asus
P5B Deluxe (or P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP version)
P5B-E Plus.

and if i have to pick between the two Intel 975 Express based boards the abit AW9D-MAX and Asus P5W DH Deluxe,
the AW9D-MAX looks very good to me, so i'd say as of today i will choose the AW9D-MAX over the P5W DH Deluxe.

Intel 975 + ICH7R chipset-based platforms.

abit - AW9D-MAX
Asus - P5W DH Deluxe

these two boards are more expensive than the others, but one of them may be meet your needs, they are for you to use more PCI-E or PCI-X expansion cards... Asus - P5W64 WS Professional or P5WDG2 WS Professional.

I'd suggest u get the core 2 duo E6600 and an ASUS P5B Deluxe.
As for the gfx card,a x1950 xtx is a good deal right now.
Don't forget to get some good ddr2-667 ram.
