Best Mobo for Core 2?

i don't understand why a MoBo manufacturer would be that cheap? they could just pass the cost onto the consumer. They could make different models of the same board and charge a bit more for the one w/the more efficient cooling solution. oh well.

I agree. I have to replace the northbridge cooler anyways when i buy a new board with heatpipes, because the NB gets soo damned hot, yet the mosfets are cool to the touch.

i also use a Gigabyte board that has heat pipe with Lian-Li PC V1000 Plus computer case, the board can only be mounted upside down on this case. it seems to me there is nothing bad about this, but i really don't know... so how do i find out if the heat pipe on the board is not functioning properly, do you know?

well that's not in my case then, i have one board that is mounted in a normal position case (PC-7) and another one is on an upside down case (PC V1000 Plus)... they are giving me the same... when i touch it... and this on both an overclock attempts and non overclock times. so like i said i don't know.

anyway, as i understand the PCI-E specs under the nForce 680i SLI MCP chipset seems to have an advantage over the Intel's chipsets, so one of these nForce 680i chipset motherboards can be the best motherboard for a gaming computer.

from looking at their images and specs, all are look nice to me.

Gigabyte will also has a new board that uses this new nForce chipset, as i've read from Gigabyte's news the first board that will be released pretty soon will be named as GA-N680SLI-DQ6.

I would wait for some bios updates and hw rev. Eg. the P5N32-E SLI has a huge vcore drop under load, over 0,1 V :O

Looking forward to some tests of the Abit and DFI board, they could rock bad.

Btw a cheap solution could be getting the ECS version, since it's acually the Foxconn version (which EVGA, MSI and alot of the others are using also) but with some ECS stickers on, not that I'm planning on it, but for those who wants so save som dollars.

personally, if someone want me to have one of the four boards that i posted pictures above, then i will take the eVGA 122-CK-NF68.
just not sure though why i want to try/have it over the other boards. lol. it looks real nice and i don't think i can buy the eVGA products, since there is no distributors available, i think.

eVGA, BFG, ECS... all their i680 boards are 100% identical. All follow reference design.
