I saw the new iPod shuffle today.....

The new one about three quarters the size of a book of matches & half as thin.I had too have it.$79.00 at the Wally World.Only has 1 gig of HD but it's so cute.Can anybody add anything I too know about this thing?.I had an iPod about 3-4 months ago but took it back when I took the iMac back.It didnt come with a scap of software.What will I need in that form if stuff?...Thanks.

You should just have to go to apple's site and get itunes. Through that you can put songs on it and update its firmware if needed. If you really hate itunes, foobar2000 and I think winamp have some plugins that will work too.

I just got an 8G nano yesterday, and its awesome. It's so cute I just want to touch it all the time

Youre sounding a bit kinky there bro......Question.I have a portable 6GB Western Digital pocket HD{5400RPM}.About the size of the iPod I bought.Is there any reason I cant put iTunes software and the music I wanna buy on the mini WD HD?And never use my Raptors on my rig.

How so? Just use any intermediary PC and then run the iTunes and music swapping off the tiny WD HDD?

I don't know if iTunes will run without being 'installed' so portability might be a miss but if its just on the one PC then go for it.

I have been trying to make it work for a day now but I keep crapping out.It wont put it{Apple software}on the mini HD.Keeps installing it on the friggen Raptors.I guess i'm gonna have to buy another HD.But I dont see any reason why it wont work!!!Its a regular HD.Just small.I tell it to install the software on the mini HD when it asks where I wanna put it.If anybody can figure this out please put youre 2 cents worth in....Thanks.

I think that's an inherent design flaw of the Apple software itself, I mean PC users are accustomed to putting things where they want them (90% of the time), Mac users just drag and drop and the system does the rest (and puts its files where it wants them).

So I may be wrong but I think that's the overall problem.

stick to pcs mate !

Sony do a nice "network walkman" much nicer than the ipods.

Why not just get a cheaper MP3 player then put tape over the LCD that tells you what song you have on, slap it on randomize, then call it an iPod shuffle and you'll notonly have the same thing or better but you'll be a tad richer too
