Hey,
I just tried to remove my fan from the CPU and the fan was stuck to the CPU with AS and it just pulled straight out with the CPU lever still down! This has never happened before... I noticed one of the pins is slightly bent on the CPU, but only a little, i managed to re-seat the CPU to make sure it would still fit and align and it does... Have I broken my CPU, and will this lower performance? |

I had a bent pin on an AMD processor, it arrived like that when I got it, and I too managed to seat it, and ran it fine for a good few years.
If it's seated and you're confident it didn't snap off then it should be fine. But I don't recommend taking out again all that often.Craig |

Should be fine. As long as you were able to bend the pin enough to get the CPU to sit flat in the socket then it should work out fine. Infact, when you set the retention leaver for the CPU the socket would tighten up, and straighten the pin out even further. I bet if you look at it now it's either almost or perfectly straight.

so long as it didn't actively break and the cpu resaeted ok you're good
![]() my current cpu showed up with half a dozen bent pins, but 10 minutes work with a screwdriver and it's all good. |

For fixing bent CPU pins use an empty mechanical pencil. Works amazingly

You should make a prototype that looks like it is an actual tool. Maybe in a little kit with molex removal tools. Then patent and market it and become the next Bill Gate$. |
