Thumbs Down! LCD out converter to CRT?

hi.. i've noticed that on the latest pci express gfx cards, some if not all seem to only have outputs for an LCD monitor. Can i use a converter to connect up to my superior CRT monitor instead? :?

Yes, and most Video cards come with them.

DVI is digital... CRT monitors are analog, so no potential quality increase over VGA, BNC, or whatever other cables there.

i did say 'i'd like' DVI, not 'i could have'.. not that it matters.

I guess that LCD's do need any help they can get.

lcd's by far are not in line if not serpasses the quality of any damn good CRT anyday now (a decent LCD, not a POS shitty dell model, aside from the good quality onces)

Anything you would have spent on a damn good crt back in the day, if you spent that now on a LCD, you'd get the same damn good picture if not better.

BTW,

All retail video cards come with DVI-VGA converters, some of the higher end actually provide you with 2.

I just can't get over the color shifting with viewing angle- and comparatively narrow overall viewing angles of any reasonably priced LCD. They just look bad too me. The ghosting is the worst.. even on expensive LCDs I have seen text get all nasty looking if you smooth scroll a page, while on my CRT it looks the same as if it is standing still. I'll stick with my flat Samsung CRT for a while yet.

I don't have any LCD monitors.. Always CRTs.. I just check them out at the stores and whatnot.

Well I do have one crappy old LCD as a second monitor that someone gave me for free, but I am not talking about that. I am talking about good ones.

Turn up your A/C, get a bigger desk and order an IBM P260.

DVI port? Oh yes.

Widescreen resolutions? Not natively but I can run 1440x900.

2 feet in depth? 1.5' if that.

20 pounds? Absolutely not! Its well over 100!
