help with network connection

Suddently today I couldn't make my xbox 360 see outside the connection with my PC.
It would see each other but not outside, thus no live or even connect to live.

I right clicked (is click a verb?) on the internet connection I use to connect online through my PC, then properties, then advanced. there I see a message for the first time that it doesn't look good.

Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted. To correct this, use System Restore to restore Windows to an earlier time (called a restore point). etc.

Of course I am not willing to go to an earlier restore point, especialy since I don't know when it first appeared. I haven't tried to connect online with my xbox for weeks so I can't just go back and back etc. Not that I would like that since I have ...never mind, this is just not a solution. What else can I do?

I don't have any experience with XBox live or hooking the XBox to a PC, but the fact that your computer and XBox "see" one another at least means the network adapters are working - the problem might be fixed if you can "Repair" the connection to the outside, if that is an option from the specific connection itself, usually available with a "right click" (yes, click in your usage is a verb!) on the specific connection icon in the lower right of the Taskbar...

there is no option to repair my "outside" connection. Only the local ones, that I have tried but nothing changed.

Found a solution.
Lost the url

but here is the text I copied and used to fix WMI.

At the command line, type net stop winmgmt. You may get a warning that other services need to be stopped as well; type Y and continue.
2. Open Explorer and go to the folder called %SystemRoot%\System32\WBEM\Repository.
3. Delete that folder and everything in it.
4. Reboot the system normally.
5. On the next login, open a command prompt and type the following commands in this order:
winmgmt /clearadap
winmgmt /kill
winmgmt /unregserver
winmgmt /regserver
winmgmt /resyncperf

After a second restart the connections are accessible as before without any errors and my xbox360 sees outside too.
