0x0000008e Blue Stop Message
Hello, this is my first post on this site. Since the last world of warcraft patch i have been getting glitching screens and now almost instantaneously after running WoW i get a blue stop screen. It says to disable drive 0x0000008e and sometimes 0x0000008a
im running a Pentium 4 2.66 Ghz 766mb RAM intel 82845g graphics controller i checked my computer management and under applications found this The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was C0000005 from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemo bj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error. and under system i found this Error code 000000ea, parameter1 82447d88, parameter2 8242ff60, parameter3 82752150, parameter4 00000001. any help is greatly appreciated. i am a computer newb, but i found out that its probably RAM or Compatibility problem. |

i searched that site and got this. it reads similarly to the help given on the blue screen, but i dont know how to disable a driver. i dont know anything about bios. as far as contacting a hardware manufacturer, should i download new drivers for my video card?
If you are not equipped to debug this problem, you should use some basic troubleshooting techniques. Make sure you have enough disk space. If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video adapters. Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. |

I kept getting a message like this during setup and it ended up to be a bad stick of RAM.
I looked around on the MS site and it said error 0x0000008e usually denotes an issue with RAM, which it was.....for me anyway. http://search.microsoft.com/results....0000008e+error Maybe you should look into that as a possible cause of the problem. |

0x0000008E is a memory checksum error if memory serves me correctly, you may try turning off all BIOS shadowing (system BIOS shadow etc)

i cannot get to my bios. i press every fkey and delete but i cant find the bios.
i updated my intel video card drivers, but still get the message. one message said to change video adaptors. i also get an error message when i try to shut down saying instruction at 0x02d6f207 referenced memory could not be read. might have something to do with it? i dont know, but microsoft identified the problem when i started up once and said that my problem was the intel drivers. does anyone know how i can get to my bios? |

That information would be in your system manual/motherboard manual
