Bizare green and red pixel problem!

Hmm.
I recently brought one of the Gainward BLISS Nvidia GeForce 7800GS+ 512mb

Now it started out to be a really good card, and to behonest, it still is. I love it so much!
But about 2 weeks into gaming, suddenly these green and red pixels appeared along the edges of textures in one of my games, at random points, easily removed by minimizing the game then bringing it back up. I presumed it was a glitch with the game, tried another game and it worked perfectly.

For a while.

Then they started to appear in all of my games, now its even spread to my desktop, on my wallpapers, EVRYTHING!! These bloody green and red pixels, some flashing some not, around the edges of the pictures, or my windows icons, everything!!

At first i changed cables to the back of my monitor, Anolouge to DVI etc, as i recently brought a cheap 19".
No change, I changed the settings on my monitor, only to find they dissapear the brighter the screen setting i choose. thats about it.

But I'm pretty sure its the card. But its not over heating, changed performance settings and resolution, refresh rates... nothing. These pixels come at random occasions, somtimes for a few minuites, somtimes for hours. I dont know what to do.
I've downloaded the lastest offical Nvidia driver, still no difference. (If there are any better ones plese tell me)

I just want to make sure if it is actually the card before I send it back...
Thanks

If an alt+tab and back in fixes the problem it is most likely the drivers you have installed. Or it could be a feature turned on in your card that isnt supported by the game. But I would start by checking your video drivers uninstalling, using drivercleaner and reinstalling the newest ones.

I'd do a repair install of Windows and then put some different drivers on; a tad drastic but less hastle in the longrun.

the alt tab procedure has stopped working now, and once the green starts i cant get rid of it, it goes on its own accord.

I'm not on that computer at the moment. But I'll try to get the screenshot uploaded.
Though i have a funny feeling that the screenshot might not show the green pixels on another computer.
I took one once before, when the pixels were quite bad over the screen. But when i opened it the pixels had moved, some were still there... but I wasn't sure if they were from the screenshot or actually the problem occuring on top of the screenshot.
But i'll have a go asap..
