Yeah, if this PSU fails I'll order a new one, but so far it has proven to be pretty good for me. I am not 100% sure if it is 15A, it could be higher? Thermaltake site doesn't have mine on the main website, probably becaue they discontinued production of it, it is 480Watts.

Edit: I found what I think is a good PSU at http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=13220AC9376. It doesn't show the Amps - 12V, but it is 700W, so I think it is pretty good. But could you guys just verify that it is a good PSU for what I already know what I am getting. DirectCanada.com rarely shows specs of their products, so maybe newegg or something has the same product, but w/ specs.

no worries man......that there is a quality PSU, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341002 4 rails.....with 18a on each, but the other question is whether or not it will run the x1950 on a single rail

Is there one available that has all the amps on a single rail? I'm glad I got one that has 33a on one rail - no worries then. I bought a quality brand (Enermax) and use a UPS with AVR (Boost and Trim) so I am doing what I can to ensure clean, consistent power from the unit. I understand the purpose of these individual rails is to help isolate some components from each other so that there is reduced electrical "noise" in the PSU. Hopefully, with a quality product and a UPS like this, I've covered the bases well enough. Sure seems to work nice, and my 1950 Pro is hummin' along.

Ok, so this one http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=13220AC9376 is not good? Because it is fairly cheap, and has 700Watts...

The others look nice, but in CAD + Canadians must pay more, the Enermax I would suppose would be clsoe to $200 CAD.

that really is a GREAT power supply but youre not running anything like dual video cards or an 8800GTX so it probably would have its potiental wasted in the machine

Ok, because that Enermax at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103437 I cannot find at www.directcanada.com , www.canadacomputers.com , www.tigerdirect.ca , or www.ncix.com .
I would prefer that one you suggested if I could find one that would sell to Canada, and is cheaper than the one I found.

Thanks

Ok, so I got all the stuff together, and I installed the drivers (chipset, then video card). I got my wireless PCI card to work with the internet, but it is extremely slow! It takes about 2 minutes for google to load, and 5-10 mins for driverheaven to load!I didn't think this was right, being slow than my old stuff, while it is much much better. Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, 1Gb ram, SATA drive, new power supply that is apparently better than what I need it for, yet internet is so slow there is a delay when I type.I've run out of things that I know to do, any suggestions? Also, how can I overclock? I have some stuff that shows overclocking like CCC and "EasyTune5" that came with mobo, but what is all the talk about ram having a CL like timing??Anyway, thanks for any help to this!

Be sure to post the specifics of the things you got. Motherboard: Brand and Model; PSU: Brand and Model...etc.

Make sure to go to the motherboard website and get the latest motherboard drivers and BIOS.

Check Device Manager to make sure there are no inactive/disabled/uninstalled devices.

Ok, so I installed the drivers off the CD for the mobo and the GPU (that is the only software that came). If it doesn't work the official factory drivers then why would new stuff make it run faster altogether? The parts are- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...923&CatId=1560 -- http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...807&cid=MB.157 -- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=2341479 -- http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...880&CatId=1554 -

Companies very often send out items and then start getting feedback indicating bugs, conflicts, etc. So, to take care of these they update the motherboard drivers, BIOS, etc.

Almost every single motherboard is already 'outdated' when purchased off a shelf or via online sales. So, it's ALWAYS best to check for updated drivers and BIOS.

Ok, I think there was a problem with Windows trying to update, so I got SP2 manually off the site. It seems to be running much better now. Although, I still cannot find out how to overclock, can anyone give me a quick explanation of how to make my CPU go from 1.88 to a higher processing speed? I have a program called EasyTune that came with the motherboard, but I don't think it is using the full potential.
