??? What temperature is your CPU?

Id like to see the range of members CPU temps, at full load and idle, the clock speed you are running at and what temperatures you do not like to see, for example 60c+, 50c+

also please compare your results of various heatsinks and fans. and whether you dont mind a little extra noise for a few C less.

this makes for Interesting reading

Quote:
According to different sources an average service life of a relatively primitive IC is 50-75 years at 60°C and only 1000-1500 hrs at 125°C. We didn't conducted any large-scale tests of complex ICs (processors), but some semiexperimental estimations of their average service life are much more pessimistic than for ordinary ICs - not more than 1000-1500 hrs at 85-90°C.

xp2100 and kx7 with thermalright AX-7 and Thermaltake volcano 7 fan.
175x13 = 2275
idle temp - 35
full load 40

new nf7 reporting ~6c higher than kx7 on same exact setup so I'm assuming the sensor is off. Anyway running it now:
200x11.5 = 2300
idle is 44 (though I'm subtracting 6c from it which is more accurate so I'm figuring its at 38c idle)
full load - 49c (again -6c and at about 43/44 full load)

If not OCing at all, I'd let a cpu run 55c idle with a full load of not more than 60c
Ocing, no way I would let full load temp exceed 50c.

I don't like to see anything near 50C...ever. I run a 2400+ at 2.47GHz @ 1.80v
With a SLK800/2500rpm/80mm/30cfm fan my temps are,
Idle: 39C
Load: 45C
With a Volcano 7+ at medium fan speeds the temps were,
Idle: 42C
Load: 49C

I would not mind trying a 3500rpm panaflo to see some lower temps though
Thx for the link, that was a good read

1800+ at stock speed, Zalman CNPS5500-CU at full RPM. Chieftech DA-series with seven fans, making my case sound like a jet

Idle = 52 degrees celsius.
Loaded = 57 deg. celsius.

My modo reads the actual core-temp with the internal sensor in the cpu, so It's pretty ok, I guess. Now the summer will be here soon and my computer is located on the second floor in our house, I will go up to around 60 deg on full load. My next major upgrade will be some nice watercooled peltier blocks to both the cpu and the vpu (gpu to you nVidia people). I'm also going to find a nice clockable 1700+ t-bred, then it's cloxxor-time

I wouldn't care too much before it hits 65 deg

Every processor I've had in this motherboard has always run at the same temp full load

Celeron 566 - 50 C
Celeron 566@700 - 50 C
Celeron 733 - 50 C
P3 1GHz - 50 C

I think maybe something's wrong with the temp sensor

Yeah, the 1.2 temps are about 7C higher than the older NF7-Ss and the NF7 (non S) .

Anyways I am running XP2100 at 2200mhz. SLK-800 with ThermalTake Smart Fan 2 ... Full load: 42C ...... Idle? Dunno, I am always folding. Never checked to see. My temps are high cuz I pulled up the temp diode so it actually touches the back of the CPU.

lol mind cold Processor at 34C or 93F System Fan1 31C or 88F system fan1 been running at 3925 RPM fully load at 40C or 110F something like that. I used the intel active monitor. I have extra video card cooler for my 8500LE over clock at 279@279mhz getting scores like 9866 when fully defrag at one time. This Gateway system very cold very please with it. I belive Plasic cases like what HP does make system over heats to much thats why I switch to Gateway. They used Metal casen. So far been two months and loving it.

As for more noise for lower temps . . . noise is fine now, I'd have to hear just how much more noise for the lower temps

I got a Athlon XP 2000+ (Palomino core) which has 50° average temp. The Palominos tend to have such temperatures since they only have a .18 core.
edit: That's Celsius, not that freaky Fahrenheit

It made 4*C difference, the TherMagic TIM made another 2*-3*C difference... reshaping the top of the fins made another 1*C difference.

By reshaping the fins to direct air towards the center of the HS made a good difference...

running the fan on high only made about about 1*C difference... but the noise was too much... and the 1*C difference didnt help overclock any further... so, I would rather not deal with the noise.

Overall I am very happy with this overclock, BUT... I am thinking about selling this AGOIA processor, and going to a Tbred B, 1700, or 1800... and try for another 400 to 500 MHz overclock...

The nice thing about going to a TBred as that it will run even cooler... and with the ability of throwing large amounts of voltage to the core... I imagine that with a good core... I could get a 600MHz overclock... maybe more

Also, I am looking into the possability of using a very powerful (around 140 - 180 watt) peltier.

Im runnging a 1700 ( 1.47 ghz)+ at 2000+ ( 1.61 ghz ) speeds I would OC more but i get no boot at 150 fsb im running at 147fsb stock voltages. I have a Cheiftec Matrix Gloden Green case ( minus the window i have one i did myself) with 4 80's. I dont like to break over 40C to me thats hot im not sure what really is hot for a AMD though. The heatsink on this is a beast. I was running a thermaltake on it.....i went to a LAN and about after 5 min after setting up had my machine going i smelled somethig hot. I though it was my friends comp cuz my was working great before i left. Turns out my my fan died on my cooler. I was saved by a buddy that had a stock AMD 2600 cooler. I got used to it and ran really extremlly quite. Well i was buying cathodes and stuff from xoxide.com and was like well buy a new heatsink so i could the stock one back. This thing is freaking heavy ...it has a copper core and what not....when i slaped that on there my PC sounded like a freaking Jet heres the cooler. Im slowly getting used to it.

If anyone knows of a way to oc this higher or know how to unclock the proc let me know. Also i feel that this is a hell of temp 33C when a friend of mine is watercooled and OC at 28C.

stock 1700+ ( 1.47 ghz ) @ 2000+ ( 1.61 ghz )
33C at idle
39C at load
2 80MM Tri-blue led fans in rear ( outtake )
1 80MM Tri-Blue led fan in front ( intake )
1 80 in front cooling drives

Not all mobos/fans accept speed control. Mine don't, still if I set speed to zero, the cooler fan stops (audibly). However, I can't control it's speed besides on/off.
