new system or not???

hi.

i´m thinking in order a new rig or stay with what i have; here it is what i have.

asus sli deluxe.
fx-53 @2'95mhz.
2gb ocz platim @475mhz.
xxx geforce 7950gx2
be-quiet 520w
raptor 150gb

and here is what i´m thinking to get;

asus striker
e6600 with tuniq tower ultra
2gb ocz ddr2 pc2-8500 1066mhz sli-ready edition
gamextreme 700w ocz power supply
i will keep the x7950gx2, the raptor, case (therm. armor).

will i notice diference with the new rig overclocked for games???

Judas has great plans for amd. If they are going to cost a lot like the 6000+ x2... then it sounds like they will cost way too much to even put out the performance gains. Also, it was said 15%ish gains on the e6600 which is the fourth fastest intel proc. Cost wise, im curious, as the 6600 is a great budget cpu. I think amd is going to come out and cost way too much to be in many people's reach.

We won't know what AMD provides for cost to speed ratio till it happens.... we'll have to see.

I just don't think there will be ALL the much to gain from going from the pc you've got now menko2, to what you have listed as the new one. You'll definitely see "some" gains in specific areas, but in terms of actual gameplay/FPS results, it'll be pretty miniscule (not worth it).

For example, i've say that loading lvls or games will be significantly faster, however while playing it won't be all that different at all.

to get any more performance, i think you'd have to replace the video card with a 8800, doing that should seriously see some improvements, without even replacing anything else.

i though that my asus sli-deluxe was a bit old an also the rest of components except the graphic card (is the newest of the bunch).

i was going to wait for the r600 to come out and then replace it too with the best or the r600 or 8800....

let´s see what happen.

Depends on how much money you have to burn. Games would see little difference, multi-threaded apps could see a large increase.

i will keep my system until i can upgrade to something much better (provably an intel quad processor and a R600).

it won´t cost me much because i will sell what i have in ebay so....
