Hmm, is something wrong with my ram?

I have noticed something strange while playing games or benchmarking with 3DMark06.

When it's running, my ram usuage doesn't go up. It usually stays around 30% usuage.

I have 2 gigs of ram. Normally I would say the game just doesn't need anymore. But playing Stalker I thought to myself "why would the game require so much ram if it's not going to even use it?"

So is my ram not working properly?

I did download Memtest and it did test and use 100% of my ram with no errors, so I am unsure if there is any problem.

Any advice or help is appreciated

What are you using to show RAM usage during the game/s?

Do the games play well enough as it stands? If so, I'd say there's no problem.

As long as it works fine I woudn't care if some program shows low mem usage.
BTW, what program do you use for monitoring the memory usage and are you sure you are reading the correct value? It might be something else staying at 30%...

You could try to run Prime95 set to use as much memory as possible and see if it works.

ok don't laugh, but I am actually using the LCD display from my keybooard.

Now, this display shows my CPU performance as well as my Ram.

It's pretty cool cause it shows both cores of my CPU, so I can tell when a program is using one or both cores.

Anyway, when I did the test, it shoed my ram jump up to 99%.

That is the only thing I have used so far.

G15 uses Windows Performance Monitors, try disabling and rebooting, then reenabling them. I used to use the one on my G15, then I installed a LCD panel into my case and I just read everything off their.
