Bartons suposed to be 64 bit?

Are Bartons suposed to be 64 bit? Just asking becouse SiSoftware Sandra Professional 2003 said mine is...

I had some speculation with the owner of penstarsys.com over whether Bartons were going to be 64 bit... I would be most interested in seeing what Sandra says, and maybe your CPUID information. Maybe you're just reading something wrong... maybe we were right.

it will be thursday or friday before i can post it... but i grab some screens of sisoft sandra and my cpu steppings.... I could be mistaken but thats what i remember it saying

I was referring to x86-64 capability, rather than a 32-bit up 32-bit down sort of bus arrangement... does the info on AMD's website fit with what Sandra is reporting?

Isn't the Barton core the just the same as the T-Bred B core with more cache? Therefore it would be 32 bit.

Yes, it is supposed to be 32 bit. However, there was some speculation months ago that AMD would add x86-64 capability to Barton or perhaps a later K7 core to make x86-64 available across their entire product line for desktop processors.

my understanding is that all of the current processors are "64bit" except for the address bus I think it was (trying to remember my A+ certification class). Of course they don't have the 64bit commands in them though
