If my TV has a DVI connector can I....

...just hook it up to my PC to replace my monitor? Will the quality be alot better than TV out-like being able to read text? Btw, the connector on the TV looks exactly like the white one on my R9700, that's called DVI right?

If its an HDTV yes, if not than most likly not.
