maaaaan i blew up my motherboard......

yup... as it says, well I accidentally plugged the PCI-E connector into the p4 socket on my board...

and now I have no comp, any ideas on which components are good and which are fried?

I was removing my stuff from my case as I found out that the case was uneven in the back (PCI cards won't fit comfortably)

so I set everything up on my tabletop.... and plugged everything in, PCI-E was my undoing andd now I'm on my pda... not fun

thanks, looks like ill be hunting for a new mobo this summer............... I was worried I blew everything up.... as in nothing lives...

pci-ex 6pin into the 4pin 12v ... how didn't you notice something was odd?

well.... i was plugging stuff from the side, and i grabbed the PCI-E cable and the way i held it, felt like the 4 pin...... and since everything was viewed from the side it looked like a 4 pin......

well anyways it was a false alarm, i had everything removed from the motherboard, memory processor, cards, jumper battery and left it like that for the entire day, when i reconnected it, everything worked!

now i know not to work at night with the room light off

that was probably the fifth stupidest mistake of my life......

ya..... i dont want to upgrade just yet since the P35 boards are still PCI-E 1.0 and i even more dont want a limited board
