Ok, it's been a while since I've upgraded. I'm running a 3000+ Venice, but am thinking it's about time to up it a bit. I'm lost though as I usually stop paying attention to processors after buying one. So my question is what would be my best bet? Should I stick with 939, and if so, what would be the best processor I could buy? I jumped on newegg quickly and saw opterons as a great option for performance / price. Now I also want to buy new memory, I have a gig right now, but want to buy a 2 gig set. The problem is I know that AMD has begun support of DDR2, but that would mean having to buy a new board etc. Am I better off with just the memory and cpu upgrade? I don't do much stuff, but I like to run a lotta stuff at once. Thanks guys for your input.

Price for money right now goes with the Core 2 Duo from Intel. What are you going to use the PC for?
