Gatewat FPD1975W Flickering

Just got a new computer This monitor display flickers sort of off/on quickly. Usually does it more during gaming, but sometimes does it during 2d work at well.

Resolution set at reccomended 1440 x 900 @ 75hz. Using Vista 32 and a Geforce 7650gs. Monitor has both dvi/vga connectors but only came with a vga cable so im using that with a vga/dvi adapter sense the card only has dvi outputs. In the device manager its listed as a generic PnP couldnt find drivers anywhere thinking that may be the problem.

What can I try to solve this? I can try to later get ahold of a dvi cable, Geforce drivers are the latest and I dont have any other graphical problems.

First, make sure the connections are snug and tight. I'm using the DVI/VGA adapters as well on both of my monitors and one of them became 'discolored'...very pinkish/purple where white should be. Touched the connection and it took care of it.

You might try Removing the monitor from Device Manager then reboot and let Windows redetect it.

Good luck!

You bet! You'd be surprised how often that's cured a lot of problems for me.
