CPU replacement
So yea, I just drove from Ohio to Cali last week. i thought I had packaged my comp pretty well. When i got home, I made sure everything was nice and tight and all the connections were fine. My computer started freezing and I couldn't figure out why (didn't look really hard). Well I finally figured it out, one of the wires was stuck in the fan for the cpu so the fan wasn't spinning at all. No big surprise, my computer won't start anymore...
I'm lookin for a new or used Socket 939 CPU. Any ideas on a cheap place to get 'em. Newegg has an X2 for $80 which would be nice but was hopin someone would have a spare lyin around or knew a good site for refurb'd ones...Thanx for any help! |

Should go in the buy & sell forum.
I assume you're looking just for a dual-core? I've got a 3000+ Winchester that I'd let go for real cheap, pretty much bottom of the line for S939 though.

either the buy/sell forum or ebay would be the best bet for you. Or, of course, newegg if you want to buy a new one. Try checking the open box deals on there as well

nothing on the forum here, newegg has a 3800 x2 for $70 which isn't bad. I'm gonna drive over to Fry's and see what they got in a few hours...
