New Build Decided :)

Well now i've finally made all the necessary enquiries and trawled through god knows how much crap and god knows how many more opinions (definately not crap though, specially from you guys ) and i've decided on a FINAL build.

I saw the Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 in the clearance section on CCL so i had a quick look on google and saw a few review sites that absolutely Loved this board because of all the features and the overclocking/overvolting capability for such a low price.

So i sent an email to CCL asking them if they could tell me why it was in the clearance and it turns out it was a brand new replacement for a customer that was never picked up, and they weren't allowed to sell it new so they put the price down (Considerably so it happens) and put it in clearance, i was also really pleased because the email arrived very next day

So, the board has been reserved and there's OODLES of the ram and gfx card i want in stock so i should be alright on saturday to go get it all
  • Mobo : Gigabyte GA-945P-S3
  • Memory : 2x 512mb Corsair Value Select DDR667
  • Graphics Card : 512mb Sapphire Radeon x1550 < and yes i know it's the same as i've got now but i know that card is a fantastic performer in agp so it should be even better in pci-e, especially for the price i found it for
Anywho, wish me luck (BTW i'm gonna start saving for a new power supply next week, i'm gonna need some extra juice if i plan on doing a bit of overclocking)

Cheers for finding that link Teme, it's actually cheaper to buy 2x 512mb sticks of that than a single 1gb one :/
(by about 66p anyway ;p)
That's put my total to about £102.21

josh2thad is on a distinguished road

Nice boad there mousey, same as mine except i have the 965 and yours is 945. If its anything like mine, its an overclocking BEAST! i have an e4300 dual 1.8's stock OC'ed to Dual 3.3Ghz idle's at 24C load @ 39C with a Zalman.

And yes dual channel is much nicer.
