I don't use an E-Mail client -- I use Yahoo to send mail.

Still using Outlook Express 6... tried pegasus onec, but didn't like it. Might perhaps try out that new Thunderbird proggie if it's not as bug-ridden as usual for Mozilla/Netcape stuff

Ouch, I hope ya'll don't get malicious spam like I do.... I know it'd rip Outlook to pieces.
Anyway, I've tried Opera's email client, Pimmy, and IncredaMail.
Opera's email client is very simple and (of course) part of the browser. My only thing with it is that it trumps all the email from however many pop3 accounts you have into one box. I haven't really had much of a problem with it so I use it all the time (along with the browser).
Pimmy is tiny (~250kb download), needs no install, and has more features than Opera's email client ! My only quib with it is that every email has a file dedicated to it. I like to hoard my email, and because of this I have thousands of old emails. I don't want to think about having thousands of email files, but if I were to regularly zip 'em up, this might be the tool for me.... hmmm....
IncreadaMail is a pretty cool program, a definate program for those of you that use Outlook. It has more features (some not so useful...) then you can shake a stick at! Sadly, really. I'd use it if I weren't already satisfied with the job Opera does.

I almost forgot: MailWasher. This program's porpose is simply to log into your accounts to clean them out and it even works with MSN Hotmail!! It has the capability to bounce back spam and blacklist addresses for bouncy/deletion. A really cool little proggie.

-Go to TinyApps.org, click on "Internet," and scroll down to "Email Clients." I think your eyes will bug when you see just how tiny an app can be and still be able to do simple tasks.

I use Outlook Express. For spam, I just use that "block sender" thingy within Outlook. Works for me.

...the only e-mail I ever get is when I set a forum message to inform me of replies, or from family. Spam is actually quite rare for me. I guess I'm just lucky or something.

Outlook Express (5.5 on 98SE)

Outpost Firewall riding shotgun (attachment neutering!)

I never use "block sender", as if I recall, it downloads and then bins it.

I prefer to set a rule and use "Delete from Server" - then it doesn't actually download the message.

NB. Not all questions can be asked before the message downloads - as I found when one old but still monitored address came under heavy KLEZ attack.
You cannot say "has attachment" until it actually arrives, but you CAN say "is larger than".
A well tuned set of rules are a delight - and remember the options, so you can set "not" conditions as well.

I used incredimail before, and its a nice program, a little buggy though.

I like playing with email clients, and im really liking one called "The Bat" http://www.ritlabs.com/the_bat/ its very well coded, fast and bug free. Its also not susceptible to the email viruses that Outlook etc are prone to.

I use Outlook XP at the moment... I haven't experimented much with other programs because I have 2 accounts; one is pop3 and the other is hotmail. Outlook is the only client that can access hotmail, so i'm stuck unless i want to give that account up...

Yeah i agree incredimail is good but at times can be buggy. They update it every couple of months. I will have to give The Bat a look at, thanks!

I purchased a license for incredimail a year or more ago, but I initially deinstalled it as it was extremely buggy at that time. I reinstalled the new version last week or so, only to find, while it is a little more solid it really is not a program I would keep on my computer, certainly not as my main email client.

Having tested ritlabs email client for over a week now, and giving it a thorough going over it is the best client ive used, even better than outlook XP. A guy I know high in the industry recommended it to me and initially I was very dubious of his claims.

Its virtually immune to viruses. Klez wont even affect it. you can check emails on the server before downloading. It has a powerful template system for replying, forwarding etc. It also has a substantial built in virus checker for additional protection and it also works with Norton Antivirus as a third line of defense. It also has several very useful functions and while it certainly cant compete with incredimail on the looks side of things, the functionality and coding is the best ive seen with an email client. Its more solid than even Outlook XP and responds faster to almost everything. The contact book and email backup onto additional harddrives is also very well handled.

IT is now my main email client. Only downside is, it costs money. they even do a hardware encrypted version with a USB key. (securebat).

I strongly recommend it to anyone who is perhaps getting a little bored with outlook XP, but who wants an email client which can handle a massive amount of email with rock solid coding.

Outlook 2003 beta2 here. Nice, looks good...good junkmail functionality and allows you to setup your hotmail to download into it.

Although i have downloaded "the bat" recently and plan to give it a shot soon.
