Need advice.

So here it goes.

Im thinking of upgrading my current configuration or better said giveing my computer over to my brother and buying a new one.

The problem is i dont know if i should wait for DDR3 to be developed a little more and a second generation of DX10 cards (my friends suggestion) or upgrade now and get this :

MB: Asus S775 STRIKER EXTREME/NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI/DDR2 800/667/533/2 x PCI-E x16/SATA II/2 x Gb LAN

CPU: Intel LGA Core2Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

RAM: 2xKingston KHX 2GB 800MHz DDR2 CL5 DIMM

GPU:
Asus nVidia EN8800GTX/HTDP/768M/PCIE/GF8800GTX/DDR3/DVI/TV-OUT

HDD: WD 320GB 7200rpm 16MB 3.0Gb/s 8.9ms SATAII RE Caviar

DVDROM: Pioneer DVDRW DVR112D Black

Housing: Cooler Master BIG, Stacker 831 S

Also what PSU would i need with this config + 9 120x120x25 coolers ?
And if you think i should get this now but know of some better ram or cpu or anything feel free to recommend it

why the fudge do you want 9 fans?

If you can wait a couple of month (I think) till the new nvidia cards are out, then wait, else, great system there.

Also, I highly advice getting a second drive where you will install games, instead of the same drive.

I agree with BlueMak 2nd hard drive is useful, since you don't have the page file in there. You don't need 9 coolers just 3 to 4 would do just fine. But I would say that wait to Intel's Penryn launch it should lower the price tag on that Q6600.

I have no idea but the Cooler Master BIG, Stacker 831 S has room for 9 of them .. so i figured why not get 9?

))

I think ill wait a couple of months when i have waited till now .. Gues new cards and CPU's will be out till January/February 2008 ? Also some better DDR3 ram so i can grab that

When was the 8800 anaounced ?
