SEIL/Turbo

Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ), (Nasdaq:IIJI), Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions provider, today announced that it has developed "SEIL/Turbo," a high-end enterprise-class router that is the most advanced unit so far in the next-generation, high-performance SEIL series of routers.

SEIL/Turbo will go on sale in June 2003 and will be available at all authorized dealers (retail price JPY780,000, tax not included). The router will also be added to the SEIL Rental Service lineup.

The SEIL/Turbo model was developed as a high-end router for the "SEIL/neu" series. In addition to the features available in the SEIL/neu series, SEIL/Turbo has an embedded gigabit interface, dedicated high-speed VPN processing hardware, robust management and other advanced administrative functions. The high reliability and competitive cost of the SEIL/Turbo model, combined with the features of other products in the SEIL/neu series, allows corporations to establish a flexible network with the highest possible performance.

SEIL/Turbo supports SMF(a), IIJ's value-added network service, and it will be actively deployed in tandem with all network services.

SEIL/Turbo Features

1. Dual gigabit interface. 250Mbps(b) routing performance.

2. Advanced IPsec/IKE functions which enable Internet-VPN. Hardware-based encryption provides 100Mbps(c) VPN performance.

3. Firewall feature; Stateful packet inspection.(d)

4. Compact flash slot, mini PCI slot, for future expansion.

5. Innovative size (190Wx268Dx45H mm) and weight (about 1.7 kg) for enterprise-class products.

6. Fan-less hardware architecture that enhances reliability and durability of hardware. MTBF 16.4 years.(e)
