Razer vs Logitech
I know DH is a bunch of Logitech fanboys but i still prefer Razer mice, i'm not keen on having a fucking Tank on my desk, and i like the feel of Razer's stuffs.
Krait is my mouse of choice atm since i'm doing more MMO and RTS gaming than FPS at, whaddyou think?

I've become addicted to cordlessness and having a few accessible extra function buttons. And although my MX1000 certainly is a bit too heavy I don't like mice that are very light either, or geekishly lighted for that matter. As for tank mice I see that their Boomslang foot-mouse is making a comeback.

Ever since Razer kicked me in the balls and kept my money for a defective product (5.1 headset), Razer can go fornicate themselves with a deranged green monkey.

Everyone has thier preference..
i was a MS fan of the explorer mouse until they made a revision to the mouse and royally screwed up the mouse wheel (no click switching, just a unreliable smooth roll that didn't give you any form of idea what would happen or how far you'd go)... At which point i moved to the G5 All the mice i use are "tanks" i guess.. even though you can make some of them lighter or heavier (g5 and now the G9)..... but i NEED a large mouse, even this G5 i have a habit of dragging the entire mousepad along with it cause my hand is much larger then it. (i actually get cramps sometimes while using it, due to trying to keep my hand and fingers up off the pad.

One mouse to rule them all...
The MX518. Been using it for many years now, the only other mouse I liked better was the MX500. Keep it simple, keep it corded, and give me two side buttons. |

I'm not keen on Razer's audio solutions but the mice are built with imperative quality in my opinion
![]() my old krait did die on me but that's because i'm constantly wrenching it towards me and i wrecked the wire lol... And i've always detested cordless mice, they tend to run out RIGHT in the middle of a game... JUST when your crosshair locked onto the dude's skull, peh |

Running a Razer Copperhead at the moment, I don't have any loyalty to any companies though, I just buy the products that are going to work the best for me.
Running my 3520x1200 desktop, I could go with even higher DPI than this mouse, trying to use a regular 800 dpi mouse on this resolution is nearly intolerable.

g5 owner here. came up from my old mx700 mouse. that wireless POS. i'm done with wireless. even the KB i'm using to type this up is wireless. i want to get rid of it, but i can't find a decent looking KB that's wired anymore. everything seems to have gone wireless
. although, i did see the saitek KB a few days ago. that one seemed really nice .anyways....i'll continue using logitech mice until i find another brand that is more comfortable to use than logitech's mice. the razer mice i find to be very uncomfortable. and what's the g9 all about? i've never even heard of that one until now. EDIT: nvm about the g9. a quick google search came up with the results. that thing is FUGLY!

I had the Eclipse keyboard. Good for the first 6 months. After that, from half the keys the paint came off. 1.5 years after purchase it just stopped working.
So I bought a very cheap Microsoft PS/2 keyboard and I couldn't be happier. Thank gods for microsoft!

i only use cord mice/keyboards... i'll never use wireless enless i get a home theater system setup and i'm on the couch and too to do some quick stuff..
the G9 being that is had a cord.... i'd likely end up getting it oventually.... it appears MUCH larger.. more comfortable.. the G15 keyboard would be sweet if i was erganomic.... but being that it isn't.. i can't use it.... the if logitech designed a keyboard nearly identical to that of the Microsoft Erganomic 4000 keyboard... i'd snap it up.

well so much for my razer mouse. got an email from razer saying i should update my firmware, did so(have done this before), & got my comp messed up. icons were flashing on my desktop, mouse was barely working, etc. after messing with it for a little bit turned of comp & disconected mouse & hooked it up to wifes comp, seemed to work fine. s oi hooked up my logy laptop mouse to my comp restarted it, destop finally came u pwith a couple of icons replicated & the mouse cursor acting very squirely. so hooked up the mouse t oone of my fron panel usb ports, seems to work fine. havent tried the deathadder that way yet as im waiting for respense from razer.
bty, razer has one of the silliest tech support sytems ever. level1 is us based phone support & is VERY basic. level2 is overseas & is email only. the level 1 guys cant even call them. so if you are having serious problems with your comp you may not get level 2 support. plus fixing some problems via email is very difficult, if not impossible. anyway, if my usb port is fried, im fkd as i use all 4 back there. hopefully once i got through a lengthy, frustrating email dialogue things will ok. wish me luck.

well, i got a repl that asked to reinstall the drivers & firmware. obviously somebody didnt read the file or it is a canned response.
i sent a reply stating that i was more interested in getting my comp running properly right now than getting that mouse running. i got a reply(wich makes the 'canned response' theory suspect) that asked if i had read the instructions for flashing(the level 1 guy had already put in the file that i had flashed this mouse before- because i asked him as we went along to put certain info in the file to avoid repeat questions like this & hopefully save time). i responded that i had flashed it before & that i had read the info. i also restated all my problems & what had caused them, & that getting my comp functioning properly was my priority. that was around 12:30. hope i hear from them again...

well i finally got a response from razer. they must have some real idiots
there. after telling them(for the 2nd time) that i have already hooked up the mouse to my wifes comp & that it seemed to work fine, they sent me this response -Quote:
![]() this is how far we have gotten after one ph call & 4 emails to me. after i have explained everything in previous posts at least twice to them. & they absolutely will not do anything via phone after level 1. nice t okow that my comp being messed up by their flash program is low priority. wonder what it takes to get high priority..

As I said Razer are a bunch of crooks. After sending me two broken headsets with the exact same problem (yesI tested them elsewhere too), they simply stopped replying to me. No refunds or anything. bye bye 120euros. Hello AKG.

When my Krait died last time CCL were very nice and replaced it for me though ![]() I'll have to scope out somebody who has a logitech gaming mice round here and have a good frag fest with one, see how i like it... Still love my krait though, with it's orange glow ^^ lol |

think im getting bluemak's treatment now. nothing from them today.
see what happens monday, if they dont respond by tuesday morning then it will be a nasty phone call & email. while i fixed the 'problem(s)', & it is no longer an issue, though i guess i better check that usb port again, this type of service is unacceptable.

Lol, this computer is only USB 1.1. So I can't change the USB refresh rate for it (I assumed that was the reason, the program you use gives me an error). Also I don't exactly get amazing framerates so sometimes the mouse is hard to move >_<. Oh well.. upgrading soon...

Anyway, I also have a Razer DeathAdder and I just flashed the firmware and update the driver a couple days ago with no problems at all. Razer DA is the best mouse I've used so far, although I hate the razer copperhead (I though it was the most uncomfortable mouse I used and the laser tracking is just horrible). Microsoft intelliexplorer is probably my second favorite mouse. I haven't used the latest logitech mouse but the software for the MX1000 was rather bloated (the mouse itself was good though). I hope Logitech has fixed this problem. I'm kinda interested in trying the new microsoft sidewinder mouse. If anyone tried it, please share your experience. |

there are two things i don't like about my g5 logitech mouse.
1. it has no foward button, only a back button 2. the center button, or the roller, clicks twice. the problem i have with that, is that i like to use that center button to open up a link in a new tab. due to this double click (not sure how else to describe it) that this middle button has, it is often difficult to click on a link. the difficulty comes when pressing the button in for the first click accuracy is good, but come the second click, the roller moves the page up or down entirely missing the link. |
