Problems with my MX518
WAAAA long post :P excess info
![]() Well I bought a new Logitech MX518 about a year ago because my old mouse would stop working all of the sudden. When I unplugged the mouse and plugged it in again it would work again. I figured it was the mouse that needed replacement so I bought the MX518. It worked just fine for 6 months or so and then I started getting the same issues as with the other mouse. Sometimes the mousepointer would "fly" around on the screen and then the mouse would stop working until I unplugged and "replugged" it into my computer. Now another 6 months later all it does is stop moving sometimes and I get that sound that indicates that you disconnected an USB-device, sometimes it starts working again within seconds but sometimes I have to unplugg it. The mouse works fine on my laptop so I'm wondering what's up. ;/ It's very annoying since I cant do anything without having issues with the mouse. When i first installed it I didnt have USB 2.0 drivers installed but I do now. Im using a Asus A7N8X-X motherboard. I recently tried reinstalling the drivers (again) just after installing SP 2 (for Win XP) and the USB 2.0 drivers, although no improvement. Is it the motherboard that's just retarded when it comes to my mouses or what's up? I've tried having it connected to different USB ports and the PS/2 port. I've grown tired of this since it spoils my gaming and surfing. Help please. :/ |
