Program for catalogging MP3's?
Is there a program out there that will scan a drive and list all the MP3's on that drive and create a list to be printed out? My brother has been hounding me to ask this question.

Yes, there is though I rarely use such software. I don't have any links for you but trying doing a search on download.com. The best ones are the ones that export to text file or even better yet Excel.

Yes, I know of one called Tag&Rename.
Among other great functions it has an option to export the list of mp3 found on a given disk to an excel sheet. Works beautifully for me, the best one I found to manage my mp3 collection so far. The website is down but you can get a trial version from here http://www.audio-now.com/mp3_management/tag.htm

originally from
WMIAppQuery.vbs v1.0 June 2002 Jeffery Hicks jhicks@quilogy.com http://www.quilogy.comba http://infocenter.cramsession.com/te...ml.asp?ID=1647 nope its not work on this page, go there and get it. its not fully loaded but its fast and free. changing the script from the Extension='exe' to 'mp3'...and "c:\work\appquery.csv" to "c:\mp3query.csv" i just tested it, its worked - very good. allow this script to run if you use any scripts blocking program. - its safe. Mpeg Audio Collection
Freeware * Scanning for MPEG audio files .mpa, .mp2, .mp3, .mp+, .mpc * Supported formats: MPEG versions 1-2.5, layer I-III and MPEGplus * File info: size, length, bit rate, sample rate, mode, version, layer * Including ID3-tags (versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.3) * Collection, volume and folder information * Searching for name, property, ID3-tag or duplicates * Searching in collection or on a drive * Saving search results * Playing file(s) with its associated application * Creating playlists * ID3-tag editor (ID3-tag version 1.1 only) * Support Xing VBR * Auto open last collection option * Importing from another collection (COL files) * Support for very big collections * Updating volumes * Several collection reports (txt, html, dif) * Multilingual interface * Printing CD-covers * File Renamer utility I've been using this software for a few years now and it came in handy with my mp3 collection on CDs (over 40 of them). It allowed me to search the volumes and play the songs from its own interface or queue them to Winamp. The export function is just great, you can select lots of detail for the output including time, size, total time, volume, file, folder count and the format of your choice. Hope this helps... It helped me a great deal when I was looking for the same thing as you.
