tentative rig, do you guys approve?

CPU: Intel Xeon X3220 or X3230 (is the 95w TDP and higher multiplier in the X3230 worth it?)

Motherboard: ASUS P5E3 Deluxe WIFI-AP@n DDR3 motherboard (i like the onboard Wireless N)

RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR3 1800MHz 7-7-7-20 with Intel XMP (is $175 off at both zipzoomfly and Newegg with ASUS board)

GPU: Nvidia 8800GT/GTS G92 version (when is the G92 8800GTS hitting the market?)

Hard Drive: 2x 500Gb Seagate 7200.11/ES.2 (any difference between them besides operating temperature)

Case: Cooler Master Stacker 832 with Scythe 110CFM fans and Ultra KAZE 3000 fans

PSU: Corsair 750TX 750w single-rail PSU with 4X PCI-E 8-pin connectors

OS: Vista Ultimate x64-Bit

besides, you may want to make sure that you get the G0 stepping processor, and make sure that the board's CPU codes do support the Intel Xeon processor.
and i'd say of course if you can buy the X3230 i would should it over the other.

other than that, go for it, buy the parts now.

i say yes, get the Q6600.

you will get less headache, probably.
and if any BIOS code update, that will be programmed to optimise overclocking ability of the board for the specific processor, then you know about it, and not doubtful.

nah, that is not necessary. kris has helped other members on their buying decision on computer hardwares quite a bit already.

i think it's time for him to decide for his own system, his money and all, he just want to make sure a few things, that's about it.

so shall we let him have what he wants. let have it kris, and may be you can give me a few info on my future DDR3 platform buying decision.

yea.... i guess thats good! and i bet by the time you upgrade, your hardware will be better than mine!

i gave my dad the choice to buy either this, or a P5E based DDR2 system, he chose this route for me, $1600 vs $1300 and yea..... he just said go for the better one because to him, that 300 is nothing.

i wouldve never gone this route if i didnt hit a few critical deals man

ill probably order my new hard drives in a few days (2x 500GB 7200.11)
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

well, i have been seeing you helping others after they have problem with finding hardware to build a computer system from scratch.
so by now, i think you should see a lot of info, including hardware prices and reviews. your father may not know that you have done some research in this buy quite a bit already.
in all cases, whatever is the decision, good luck with your new computer.

lol he knows i have done the research, just not that much research.

been looking at the pass of components for years already so i got a good idea of how everything is. i was just lurking from forum to forum since before DDR2 hit the pictures and Dual Core systems were Dual Processor servers.....

everything went by fast since the 2-3 years ive been digging.

my recommendations have always been based around speed and quality to the dollar and i learned about many other things on the way.

so yea, this is my first REAL machine and im very excited!

ok, im also thinking of going straight into water cooling as well as i seen some pretty decent stuff for cheap, just gonna use distilled water

but im thinking of which CPU block is better? ive been seeing the best things out are the Swiftech Apogee GTX and the D-Tek Fuzion. some places say GTX is better, others say Fuzion is better, what do you guys think?

im planning to use the block with a Dual Fan Rad to go on the bottom of my case and a Swiftech MCP655.
