X1950 or 8600GT?

No i wouldnt wait forever .. if there is a chance that my next pay check is not spent in advance than it will go in the budget for the GPU and so after 1 month i got a 8800 instead of 8600 or x1950.

But if there is no source of income to guarantee that you will have that money in a month or two or how ever long he is willing to wait than just get an x1950 now.

I didnt say wait forever and than one time youll be able to get 8800 just before you go into retirement.

@ Mousey: Just go for the best thing you can afford once you've got all your christmas money. If that's the X1950 then you'll get plent of good times out of it. I've got one sitting in another PC next to me and plays games lovely.

i personally would go with the 8600GT. They have good performance for the price. here is a link for the one i would go for..

Yes i know that your not in the USA but im sure you can find this for about the same price over there...

i dont know about prices over there but for $200 here you can grab 2 of these or 2 2600xt's and crossfire/SLI them.. i think the 8600 is better than a 2600X T especially while DX9 gaming like fear and oblivion

In the UK the 8800GT (£180) is considerably cheaper than the GTS (£235) and you're getting a quicker card for less money. More bang for buck. However, the x1950 is less than half the price of the GT at around £80.

(All prices are approx depending on the exact model)
