What's the difference in Inte's CPU's...
Ok the deal is that one retailer has Q6600's on sale on set is marked with SKT775 and the other is SLACR. I've looked Intel's site and found nothing useful info about them. So I bet that we have here some one who knows what the deal is in here.
Thanks ![]() Ps. And I would like to know that does the both come with stock cooler... |

stepping man. you know about all the commotion for G0 Q6600s? the model number SLACR is the successor to the model SL9UM which is a hotter running, lower clocking chip
consider the SLACR model Q6600 the latest revision, its the one you want. your retailer you said was bundling SL9UM chips with motherboards? more than likely they are trying to get rid of those older B3 stepping models.i think its worth it to buy the G0 (SLACR) model

Yes, SLACR is the newer core revision - here are the specs. This is the older revision, avoid it if you can. "SKT775" means Socket 775. And if you want the stock cooler get the BOX version.
Just googled and it seems that the "HH80562PH0568M" is an OEM version and the "BX80562Q6600" is boxed retail version. Last edited by RoyBatty; Nov 20, 2007 at 02:04 PM. |

Yeah I've been looking other retaillers in here and found that there aren't any boxed versions out here. So I think that I'll get the SLACR reversion and get some cheap cooler, since I don't have the money to get the high end ones :P

the numbers you are referring to are the BOXED and OEM order numbers "BX" is the boxed proocessor and "HH" is the OEM processor.
if they are both G0 SLACR chips then either one is fine really. RoyBatty said it right

dude, the box order codes for the SLACR and SL9UM are the same so dont base your purchase on it.
i highly recommend just spending that 4 quid and know you got the best version

just a remainder, the sSpec Number is on the boxed retail processor, if it's not the same sSpec then don't open the box and ask for a replacement.
