P35 or X38 SLI Support?

Anyone know the reasons behind why NVidia doesn't support either of these two chipsets? Seems a little 'offside' to me

nvidia doesn't like the idea of having thier logo on the same product as ati....

but it's sure is interesting.. considering that alot of people were concerned that with ati/amd merger, that anything to do with intel and ati would be emediately cut off or soon after cut off..

Sure that's a bit childish? I mean, this is meant to be what consumers want. And I for one would like to have the option although I would probably not do so (too tight).

If only the ATI GFX solution were more competitive right now then NVidia would have no choice but to stick their attitude up their ****!!

as I said it's all about the money.. they want you to get all what they can have from SLI and that means that in order to have SLI you must have mobo with nvidia's chipset.

Precisely, and considering Nvidia's grasp on the graphic processing market's balls like intel have over AMD atm they're in a position to do that.
Whereas ATI will practically give their cards away just to get people back on their sides after the mistakes they made with the R600 GPU.

Am i right or am i a retard?

until intel & nv come to some sort of agreement nothing is going to happen. i also am of the opinion that something will happen fairly soon(meaning next few months) - unless intels agreement with ati had some sort of time based exclusivity.
also there is a possibility of a 3rd party workaround. though i have been waiting on that for way to long

well... theres is the whole work arouund with skulltrail and SLI, i think thats the first step to awesome Intel plus Nvidia....

But they should provide native support to each other as that is what we (the consumer) want. We're the ones with the money. I don't have the option to SLI my the rig in my sig which means upgrade options have been diminished due to their pettiness.

i think so, but it isnt finalized yet, could even be both with 2 different models.....

but do you really want to pay 600 bucks for a board

2000 for a set of processors

and a crap load for FB-DIMMS?

Hell no. It would though set a precedent for intel to have NVidia supported boards and enable mainstream lower-priced models to enter the market.

Things might be changing soon, Intel messed with Nvidia by not giving them all the info on Penryn so the current Nvidia boards cant really run them, or cant overclock them. So you might see Intel getting Nvidia stuff soon, or it might just be a hurdle for Nvidia to cross and get a working BIOS.
